The wipers on this car sucked since the very beginning. they did not wipe for shit so I bought a new pair of wipers.

Kinja'd!!!

These weren't that simple to install for some reason. This car has the pin arm wiper retaining system and I had a bitch of a time getting them off. I had to resort to google to help me figure out how to get them off to no avail. The instructions I saw on google just did not work no mater how hard I tried. I did not want to force it and break the pin.

Kinja'd!!!

I ended un ripping the actual blade of the wiper off and under neath I saw a metal tab to press then the wiper slid right off

Kinja'd!!! Kinja'd!!!

Installing the new ones was somewhat tricky as well I followed the instructions exactly as pictured below.

Kinja'd!!! Kinja'd!!! Kinja'd!!! Kinja'd!!!

It just doesn't look quite right like that but that's exactly how it says it's supposed to go.

Kinja'd!!!

I still have this cover left but there is no way it can go on.

Kinja'd!!!

There is simply no space in between the wiper and the wiper arm for it to go. So I said fuck it! That's how it's gonna stay and if the wiper flies off I'll try a different style the nest time.

Kinja'd!!!

While I was at it I decided to try to fix the knob for the wiper switch. I forgot to take pictures but here it is as good as new.

Kinja'd!!!

I decided the check the oil. BONE DRY! It barely showed in the dipstick.

Kinja'd!!!

In order to put oil in I had to make a makeshift funnel.

Kinja'd!!!

There is no way to put oil in without a funnel without making a huge mess there is a metal tube directly on top of the filling hole(good job Ford).

Kinja'd!!!

The car came with 2 jugs of this ESSO XD-3 heavy duty oil.

Kinja'd!!!

I put in the whole 4 litre jug and the dipstick was reading just right at the max line. I'll have to keep an eye out for oil leaks of if it burns oil. The previous owner must of been keeping jugs of oil in the car for a reason.

Car And Parts:

-Car Purchase: $1500.00

-Reflex Hybrid Wiper blades: $19.98

-Esso XD-3 10W30 Oil: FREE

Total to date: $1519.98

It sure does. Now I need to find another outer ring like on that switch for the headlight switch. The headlights have a knob but no outer ring.

Ever find any 351-4V heads?

I know where I can get some but they are a little too much money for me right now. If the guy ever decides to go a bit lower then I'll be all for it.

The heads them selves weren't too expensive but I have to think big picture. I'll need new head bolts, new head gaskets, new intake gaskets, ect. By the time I'm done I'll spend an extra $200-$300 bucks on top of the price of the heads.

Old pins can really be a pain in the ass. Switching blades on my 96 Thunderbird was quite a chore. Maybe it's just A FoMoCo thing...

It must be. I watched vids on youtube on how to remove them and nothing worked so I had to take matters into my own hands. If all else fails break it!

Haha exactly. I had to completely smash the old wiper to get it off sometimes.

I don't need the intake since it won't fit. The 400 has a taller deck height(the heads are further apart) I can get adapters to use the stock 351-4V intake or I can get an edlebrock intake for less than the adaptors. The edlebrock seems like a better buy.

$500 for just the heads and he has a deal.

I saw the blades and thought they looked like Reflexes. I have worked retail too damn long if that's all I took from your post.

Also, your ride must be fun in the snow.
